History of Kodiak Mountain Resort, Afton, Wyoming Kodiak Mountain Resort, nestled at the base of the Salt River Mountains in Afton, Wyoming, was envisioned in 2013 by co-owners Lynn Call and Kade Bagley, whose passion for Star Valley’s beauty inspired a unique retreat. The property was purchased in 2014, with construction starting late summer of that year, leading to the resort’s opening on August 15, 2016. Kade, owner of Big Ridge Log Pro’s, crafted 28 custom log cabins using 29 semi loads of lodgepole pine from the Bridger-Teton National Forest, showcasing his unparalleled skill in log work, seen in few other places. Property manager Jordan Call emphasizes authenticity, with local materials reflecting Star Valley’s character. Kade’s artistry defines Kodiak, with the lodge’s striking entry featuring a bent log circular door, each cabin’s front adorned with artistic bent log designs, and the resorts entrance marked by a round log structure encircling a large digital sign—unique elements exclusive to Kodiak. Cabins, from cozy queen units to family adventure suites, offer upscale amenities like Klipsch sound systems, oversized soaking tubs, and romantic gas fireplaces. The RV Park, with 57 full-hookup sites, welcomes diverse travelers. Kodiak has grown since 2016, adding a lodge with complimentary breakfast and the “Blissful Bear” spa. Star Valley Crossfit gym opened in July of 2024, boosting wellness. In the winter 2025, a new facility debuted, housing Mountain Top Outdoor Shop, an archeryfocused store with an indoor shooting range. Future plans include adding a swimming pool for guests to enjoy. Near Afton’s World’s Largest Elkhorn Arch and Periodic Spring, Kodiak is a gateway to Star Valley’s adventures. Rated 9.0/10 by RV LIFE and 4/5 on Tripadvisor, it fulfills Lynn and Kade’s vision of creating lasting memories in a home-like setting.

New changes coming in 2026.  We'll be adding an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, large patio lounge area with gas fireplaces, new hot tubes, and pickleball courts, hopefully all opening sometime summer of 2026.
